When Armin van Buuren calls you “the future of trance music,” you know you're doing something right. Andrew Rayel has been so honored, and his latest album Moments is a strong case for van Buuren's adoration.
The 16-track album depicts a bold, bright future for the genre. Lead single “I'll Be There” features a strong, no-holds-barred vocal from Eric Lumiere that'll have you throwing your hands into the air as you sing along. It's an emotional moment on the album, immediately followed by the deep, bass-rooted heaviness of “All Systems Down,” featuring KhoMha.
The duality hard and soft runs throughout the album, especially on “My Reflection” featuring a heartfelt performance from Emma Hewitt. There's also a overarching theme of danceability. Besides the emotional closer "Winterburn," not one track on Moments lacks a banging beat. “Home” with Jonathan Mendelsohn even plays with dubstep rumbles.
